MY GRANNY'S GARDEN - A MEMORY

How are you guys? I have to share some few memories in making your small backyard a haven in gardening. I hope I could have one in the future. But I can share my experience in my childhood days in my province. while helping my Lolo and Lola (Granpa and Granma) with the house chores.

I was really amazed on how much my granmother can really grow the plants even though it looks like its dying already. She had just pulled it somewhere along the trail (not on neighbohr's garden) but those plants that looked good along the road, can make an impression on how your garden will look like.

One of my tip is, if you want to make your garden lively, "do it in a lively manner" - it means you have to be compassionate with your plants - even if you need to talk or sing with them, even it is not fully grown up. I remember, I was really impatient about the seeds of a plant that I want it to grow immediately - I have to water it so much and late did I learned that it is not the right way of taking care of the seed and it died.

Another one, you don't need expensive flowers or potteries to make it look good - a drawback in the past would make it more beautiful (a simple plants around the corner, a simple pot, a simple earth soil and a small area). You don't need technology in this one - you can do it simultaneously on the spot on whatever manner you feel it would be.

Sometimes when you plant and your'e eager to see the result, It makes them shy and unhealthy in the end. My Granny was mad sometimes at me when I do that to her plants. She really loves gardening and even she was sick and old.

It was 6:00 am in the morning and I was on my 2nd grade of my childhood days - I was really ashamed going out of the garden to water the plants and I don't really like it. But my granny would tell me that she will give a bread or anything that will make my day a happy one - too bad she was bribing me at a young age - actually she do takes good care of us - her grandchildren.

Do you remember the days that your mom and dad would give a candy or anything that will make your world happy? My grandma used to tell me that if you feel you have to do that to your love one, you can do it also with the plants.

I never seen anybody that is so attached with her gardening other than my grandma. She could explain and narrate the whole time of what plant she has and I can ask anything about the plants and flower she had. Looking at her trying hard to water the plants on her paralyzed hand makes my heart break - but then she's very happy doing it, it makes her life happy and healthy.

If your'e very attached with the technology today, try to have a break and make your porch a better green fresh looking one. I am sure you'l have the best of your thousand tea times.

For anybody out there you can be my Grandma, who loved nature and plants until today that made her life go on strong and happy - sitting on her chair in an early morning breeze until its beautiful sunset.
